Job description

Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – Longsight (Start Date: January 2026)

Teaching Personnel is proud to be working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Longsight to recruit a committed SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time position starting in January 2026. This role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm, and focuses on providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted support to pupils with SEN, both individually and in small groups
  • Assist class teachers in planning and delivering tailored learning activities
  • Support the creation, implementation, and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Contribute to an inclusive, engaging, and safe learning environment
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support pupil progress
  • Track development and adapt learning strategies to meet changing needs

About You

We’re looking for someone who is passionate, patient, and ready to make a real impact.

Essential skills and qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • Empathetic, adaptable, and nurturing approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
  • Level 2 Safeguarding certificate (or willingness to complete training)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
