SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

Location: Longsight
Start Date: September 2026
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

About the Role

Teaching Personnel is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Longsight, seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a full-time position supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) through both one-to-one and small group interventions.

Key Responsibilities

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

✅ Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN on a one-to-one and small group basis

✅ Work alongside class teachers to deliver engaging and differentiated learning activities

✅ Support targeted interventions designed to meet individual learning objectives

✅ Help create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment

✅ Assist with the implementation and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

✅ Liaise effectively with teachers, the SENCO, parents, and external professionals to support pupil progress

✅ Encourage pupils' independence, confidence, and social development

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

✔ Hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

✔ Have previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs

✔ Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills

✔ Be patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting individual learning needs

✔ Show a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

✔ Hold a Level 2 Safeguarding qualification, or be willing to complete training through Teaching Personnel

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
