Job description

SEN Teaching Assistant – Start After the Easter Break

Location: Longsight
Start Date: Just after the Easter holidays
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm)

Teaching Personnel is working closely with a welcoming, inclusive primary school that is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team after the Easter break. This role involves supporting pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs through a mix of one-to-one and small group work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support for pupils with SEN, both individually and in small groups
  • Work with class teachers to deliver differentiated, engaging learning activities
  • Deliver targeted one-to-one interventions to help pupils meet their learning goals
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to meet pupil needs

What We’re Looking For

  • GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths
  • Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting learning
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
  • Level 2 Safeguarding (or willingness to complete training through Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
