1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time | Chorlton | September Start

Teaching Personnel is pleased to be supporting a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Chorlton to appoint a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant. This full-time role (8:30am – 3:30pm) begins in September and involves providing targeted one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised support to pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small group interventions
  • Work alongside the class teacher to plan and deliver tailored learning activities
  • Assist with the implementation and ongoing review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, the SENCO, and external agencies to track and monitor progress
  • Adjust learning strategies, resources, and approaches to meet pupils’ evolving needs

What We’re Looking For

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • A patient, adaptable, and empathetic manner
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
  • A solid commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
  • Level 2 Safeguarding qualification (or willingness to complete training)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
