1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time | Chorlton | September Start

Teaching Personnel is delighted to be supporting a friendly and inclusive primary school in Chorlton in their search for a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a full-time position, working 8:30am – 3:30pm, providing tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs through both individual and small-group interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs, as well as targeted small-group interventions.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver differentiated learning activities.
  • Assist in the implementation and ongoing review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to monitor pupil progress and development.
  • Adapt learning resources and teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of learners.

What We’re Looking For

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
  • A patient, adaptable, and supportive approach to working with young people.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Level 2 Safeguarding qualification, or a willingness to complete relevant training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
