1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time | Chorlton | Start After February Half Term

Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working with a warm, inclusive primary school in Chorlton to recruit a committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time position (8:30am – 3:30pm) starting after the February half-term, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs through personalised one‑to‑one and small group intervention.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering tailored support to pupils with SEN on a 1:1 basis and within small group sessions
  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering individualised learning activities
  • Supporting the implementation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Helping create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
  • Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and external specialists to monitor and review progress
  • Adapting strategies, resources, and approaches to meet pupils’ changing needs

What We’re Looking For

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs
  • A patient, understanding, and adaptable approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
  • Level 2 Safeguarding qualification (or willingness to complete training)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
