Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Opportunity
Urmston
Start Date: September 2026
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Teaching Personnel is proud to be partnering with a warm, inclusive primary school in Urmston to recruit a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 class from September.
This rewarding full-time position involves providing tailored one-to-one and small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The Role
As a Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide focused one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Assist in delivering personalised learning activities that meet individual needs
- Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Contribute to a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
- Work alongside the Class Teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to support pupil development
- Monitor progress and adapt support strategies to help pupils achieve their full potential
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will:
- Hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Have previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs
- Be patient, caring, and adaptable in their approach
- Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
- Have a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and wellbeing
- Hold a Level 2 Safeguarding qualification, or be willing to complete training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
