SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time | Blackley | November Start

Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working in partnership with a highly respected and inclusive primary school in Blackley, seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time from November. This role runs from 8:30am to 3:30pm, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) through tailored one-to-one and small group interventions.

The school has earned an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating and is celebrated for its nurturing ethos and inclusive approach to education. You’ll be part of a collaborative, welcoming team that values the vital role support staff play in pupil development.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Providing focused support to pupils with SEN, both individually and in small groups
  • Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivering personalised learning activities
  • Supporting the creation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to monitor progress
  • Adapting support strategies to meet evolving pupil needs

What We’re Looking For:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare
  • Level 2 Safeguarding certification (or willingness to complete training)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
