Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – Prestwich

Location: Prestwich
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Start Date: After February half term

Teaching Personnel is pleased to be working with a well-respected, inclusive primary school in Prestwich to recruit a committed SEN Teaching Assistant. This full-time role involves delivering focused one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them progress both academically and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted SEN support to pupils in both 1:1 and small-group settings.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities.
  • Contribute to the implementation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Observe, record, and adapt your approach based on individual pupil needs.

What We’re Looking For

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
  • Level 2 Safeguarding qualification (or willingness to undertake training).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
