Job description

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full Time – Long Term – Manchester

Do you have the resilience and passion to support young people with social, emotional and mental health needs?

A specialist provision in Manchester is looking for a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their supportive and experienced team.

The role:

  • Supporting students with SEMH and behavioural needs

  • Building positive, consistent relationships

  • Working within small classes and intervention groups

  • Using behaviour support and de-escalation strategies

  • Promoting emotional regulation and engagement in learning

We are looking for candidates with experience in:

  • SEMH schools or alternative provisions

  • Youth work or behaviour mentoring

  • Care or support work

  • Sports coaching with challenging behaviour

You will be:

  • Committed to full-time hours

  • Calm, consistent and resilient

  • A strong role model for young people

  • Looking for a long-term position

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
