Primary Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Salford (M3) to provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, nurturing, and passionate about supporting young children to thrive both academically and emotionally.

The Role:

• Provide consistent 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil throughout the school day
• Support learning, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour
• Implement strategies to support SEMH needs, including de-escalation and emotional reassurance
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow tailored support plans
• Promote independence, confidence, and engagement in learning

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience working with children with SEN and/or SEMH needs (school-based experience preferred)
• Be calm, resilient, and empathetic
• Understand the importance of structure, routine, and positive relationships
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Hold a relevant TA qualification or equivalent experience (desirable but not essential)
