SEN Teaching Assistant | Full-Time | Moston | September 2026 Start

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Moston, seeking a passionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is dedicated to supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and making a meaningful impact on their educational journey.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils thrive both academically and socially. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will provide personalised support through a combination of 1:1 interventions and small group sessions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering tailored support to pupils with additional learning needs
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of differentiated learning activities
  • Supporting the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence and independence
  • Creating a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborating with teaching staff, parents and external professionals to support pupil progress
  • Adapting resources and learning strategies to meet individual needs

✅ Requirements

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN
  • A patient, caring and adaptable approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
  • A Level 2 Safeguarding qualification or willingness to complete relevant training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
