SEN TA Graduates

Job description

We are looking to appoint graduates with special needs support experience for a group of special educational needs (SEN) schools based in Richmond. The role would be full-time starting after the half term Monday to Fridays 8:30 – 4pm and would require the successful applicant being open to a free trial day or interview at the school.

The role will involve supporting with planning and delivering learning programmes to SEN children in small classes of up to 8 pupils, 1:1 and/or in groups. Children in class will have a range of learning, social and medical needs with some also having additional therapies such as speech, occupational and physiotherapy. Being experienced or open to supporting children with personal care (toileting support) will be vital due to the complexity of needs in the school.

There are three schools within the group in Hampton and Twickenham providing amazing opportunities to children with a range of complex needs. The current role available would be based in a primary department of a special school in Hampton, however opportunities are coming up in the schools in Twickenham this term. Successful graduates will need to be flexible and confident supporting children in class with their learning (Maths, English and Sciences etc) and their overall care.

What the school offer staff:

  • Real opportunities for aspiring teachers, school leaders and support staff who want to work in a special educational needs environment
  • Low staff turnover with a majority of staff continuing into permanent placements within the school
  • Supportive and highly trained staff working collaboratively across all departments to deliver effective learning plans
  • Modern facilities – hydro pool, rebound therapy room, sensory rooms and large spacious classrooms
