Job description

Due to a staffing restructure, we require a full-time Science teacher from September 2020 on a fixed term basis for 12 months. All three disciplines of science would be required to be taught to KS3 level, with the successful Science teacher teaching their specialist area to KS4.

This full-time Science teaching role will incorporate planning, delivering and assessing Science within a hard working, successful faculty. 

  • Full-time Science teacher required, September 2020 start date (or earlier if possible). 
  • Oftsed graded ‘Good' secondary school in Salford - near to Worsley.
  • Access to award winning CPD academy.
  • Pay in line with MPS and UPS (GBP24,373-GBP40,490).
  • Located near to the A580 (East Lancashire Road).

The successful candidate will be joining a large and oversubscribed secondary school which has state of the art facilities throughout, and newly refurbished Science Labs. The department are passionate about creating scientists of the next generation and deliver an inclusive and creative curriculum that both challenges and inspires students. Experience teaching all areas of Science through the OCR teaching curriculum would be desirable for this position, as this is the exam board utilised. The school is situated close to the A580 (East Lancashire Road), the M62 motorway and is ideally located within walking distance of a local tram stop.

The Incoming Science Teacher should:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) within the UK.
  • Be able to plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons to a range of learners at all ability levels.
  • Have the ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students.
  • Have strong subject knowledge of the new OCR (1-9) Science curriculum.
