Teaching Personnel are looking for Children's Residential Support Workers to provide personal care and support to children and young people with disabilities as well as emotional and behavioural difficulties. There are multiple posts available to start ASAP in a Residential Care Home in Gateshead which has a collaborative ethos and a positive approach. The roles are initially temporary but likely to become permanent.
There are a range of shift patterns on offer which include weekdays, weeknights, and various times over weekends. These can be full or part time. This role which would also suit a special needs teaching assistant looking for alternative working hours. The ideal candidate will have experience in a residential setting, working with challenging behaviours and providing personal care. You will be able to work flexibly and calmly in your approach. Ideally you will have NVQ level 2 or 3, or alternatively transferable skills from other residential settings.
This Residential School supports children on the Autistic Spectrum, those with Emotional and Behavioural needs and PMLD.
Skills Required:
-Experience with Moving & Handling or Personal Care
-Patient and nurturing mannerism
