A special educational needs school in Wokingham are currently looking to expand their team of residential project workers. They are looking to employ just before the end of the academic year. This role will also continue in the September term. Pupils at the school have a variety of additional needs including Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Conduct Disorder and Depression.

Hours/shifts

The shifts will be slightly different to the main school hours and they would like the successful candidates to be able to work 5 shifts a week on a rota basis. Hours would be made up of a selection of the below:

Early = 7.15am - 4.15pm

Late = 12.30pm/1pm/1.30pm/2pm and finish at 10/10.30pm

There is also a Sunday shift which tends to be from about 4pm - 10/10.30pm

Job activities

- To provide high standards of general care to all young people in the basic daily routines and in their physical,
mental, emotional and spiritual health.
- To actively support young people/s educational progress at school and the residential unit as part of the School's 24
hour curriculum.
- To ensure that all daily routines and tasks are consistently fulfilled to the standard set out by the school.
- To ensure child protection and safeguarding issues are appropriately recorded and handed over to the Designated
Safeguarding Lead(s), in line with the projects policies and procedures.

Requirements/must haves

- Knowledge and understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues.
- Experience of working with both sexes
- Experience of working with challenging behaviour
- Must be able to work in stressful situations

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
