Skilled Literacy and Phonics Specialist Support Assistant required for part time booster support work

  • Flexible and rewarding support work to raise attainment and prepare for KS1 SATs and Phonics screening
  • Working in collaboration with class teacher and Key stage HLTA
  • Strong differentiation and communication skills required

We are looking for an experienced Level 3 Support Assistant to work on a small group and 1:1 basis with pupils who have been targeted for additional intervention in preparation for end of year assessments. The role will begin in November and will run until the end of May with opportunity for work elsewhere in school following the SATs. The school is Ofsted rated 'Good' and is situated close to the A174 with good transport links. The school offers a supportive network of staff to work with and implement a mixture of 'Read, Write Inc.' Phonics and 'Letters & Sounds' to further pupils' learning, therefore experience of using either scheme would be ideal. All candidates applying to jobs through Teaching Personnel must undertake or have undertaken an Enhanced Disclosure via the DBS – Full assistance provided (AGY) Teaching Personnel work in partnership with a variety of leading, nationally recognised CPD providers, such as National Association of SEN, National Autistic Society, Rush Miskin, Team Teach, Educare, Creative Education and Hexham Newcastle Diocese with additional local school partners. These partners deliver an extensive range of career developing opportunities to you, covering areas such as; Child Protection in Education, Prevent Duty, an accredited Holistic Approach to Behaviour Management, Understanding and Supporting Children and Adults on the Autism Spectrum, An Introduction to Special Educational Needs and Disability, Effective Adult Learning Support, Implications for Challenging Behaviour, Meeting the Emotional, Social and Mental Health Needs of Children and Young People, Differentiation, Data Handling, Assessment for Learning, Planning for Progression, Read Write Inc. and Safeguarding. In addition to this we work alongside many leaders of education and have our own ex-head teacher that provides candidates with bespoke, high-quality training. The CPD on offer will assist with your personal and career development, making you a highly sought candidate.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
