About the School

I have a secondary school who strives for high achievement located in Croydon currently seeking English teachers available to work on a long term, full time basis, immediately.

The successful candidate is expected to have a good attitude, is eager and passionate about the literature and language. The school are looking for fully qualified teachers with a PGCE or QTS who can engage children using innovative teaching methods. Experience working in UK Secondary schools would be ideal and applicants will need UK recognised qualifications.

The school has a community atmosphere and had an ethos based upon equality of opportunity. There are expectations to maintain high standards upheld by the senior leadership and are expected to be maintained all staff.

About the role

English literature and language

Experience teaching in Secondary schools at KS4 level

It would be a Full-time role working 5 days a week, 8:30am - 4pm

This is a long term role on offer lasting up to a year or more, with an option to go permanent

Creating engaging and interesting lessons in line with the National Curriculum

The school expect the incoming teacher to provide extra tuition to those who made need it.

There will be a requirement to plans, prepare, mark and assess student's work as well as providing feedback.

Additional information:

There may also be some Functional Skills delivery as well.

The learners are referred here from mainstream schools due to behavioural challenges and most do not have diagnosed learning needs.

The classes are generally up to 8 learners, predominantly by assessed by ability and classes would generally have one English lesson a day every day.

The school is situated between East Croydon and South Croydon, with strong transport links and parking available.
