DT Technician
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Our client school in Rochdale are looking to appoint a DT Technician to join them on September, on a full time basis and to provide support to teaching staff and students.
This is an important role within the very successful DT department, preparing and clearing away materials (wood, metal and plastic) for use in resistant materials technology lessons. It will include some independent work and organisation. Other aspects of the role are linked to food technology and multi-media lessons; display and exhibition work.
This will suit someone enthusiastic, practical, well organised, and IT literate with good communication skills. It will require interaction with school staff and students to support and demonstrate the correct use of tools and equipment. CAD/CAM experience would be an advantage, but training is available, so those without previous experience in this role can be considered if they are keen to gain experience and help assist young people in their progression in education. The school would prefer applicants to have experience working in education, or a setting involving the support of young people.
Whilst working as a DT Technician at our client school, under the direction of the senior technician and teacher, you will;
- Set up resources/materials/equipment for lessons
- Support structured and practical activities for whole class, groups and one-to-one
- Safely secure and store all equipment and materials to ensure they're well kept and not misused
- Provide clerical and administrative support as directed
Our client school is a well regarded secondary school situated a 15 minute walk from Rochdale train station, with good links to the M62 motorway. The school was most recently graded as Good by Ofsted, with Progress 8 and Attainment 8 scores in line with the national and LEA averages. The school moved in to a purpose built site in 2010, and as such, the incoming DT technician would benefit from state of the art provisions and a modern setting throughout.
If you would like to be taken in to consideration for this position, please send your CV in response to this advert via the link provided at your earliest convenience.
