Computer Studies Teacher Required - April 2021 - Southampton Academy

Are you searching for a new, exciting Computer Studies teaching role to begin in in April 2021?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a 'Good' Southampton Academy who are looking to recruit a full time Computer Studies teacher to join their small but successful Computing department. 

The role is to commence in April 2021 and last for the minimum of a term. They are ideally looking for someone who would want to transition on to a permanent contract and take on the full position of becoming a member of teaching staff. 

We welcome applicants who:

  • Have gained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE
  • Can successfully deliver Computer Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Can confidently plan and delegate a daily routine for support staff within the classroom;
  • Are either Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT's) or experienced classroom practitioners;
  • Seek a long term position teaching a full time timetable with the relevant time set aside for Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA)
  • Expectations of marking and planning
  • Needs to have the ability to deliver the programming elements of the Computer Science course

 

The School and Department

The school believe in 'achieving excellence together' and put a real focus on preparing for life after Secondary school.

The department strives to deliver engaging content that will prepare students for successful careers in the rapidly changing world of computer technology. With a large focus on programming, web page design and digital products projects, the school aim to provide a curriculum that is usable in the real world. This subject allows students to really focus on their independent study through solo projects but also to collaborate on coding and design projects giving them the confidence and creative ability to apply these necessary skills in their future education and careers.
