Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Secondary school in the Kirklees area, looking for a Behaviour Support Specialist to work children in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

The school are looking for a passionate and creative Behaviour Support Specialist who has experience working with challenging behaviours.

 You must be enthusiastic and highly motivated and will be expected to make a significant contribution to the school. You will join their vision of high expectations of achievement and behaviour and offer a nurturing and supportive ethos, celebrating differences and ensuring that everyone meets their full potential.

The Huddersfield School is averaged sized with over half of pupils eligible for pupil premium (additional government funding) which is well above average. The pupil referral unit can be quite challenging at times so we require excellent behaviour management. For candidates who apply for this role they need to be ideally team teach trained or will be willing to complete the course. The school has a diverse range of pupils from all backgrounds, some which do not have English as their first language. Ofsted has rated the school Good' with strong leadership.


To be considered for this role you will need then to-

  • Provide support for pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of education or behaviour plans
  • Establish trusted relationships with pupils and work with them on an individual needs basis.
  • Promote the inclusion of all pupils in the classroom
  • Encourage pupils to interact in classroom learning and with their peers
  • Promote self confidence and set individual tailored goals and challenges
  • Be Team Teach trained or willing to complete the course
  • Have Experience in youth work or relevant experience in behaviour management
