BB3 Primary School - Require SEN Support Assistant.

A small school located on the edge of Darwen are currently seeking an SEN experienced Support Assistant. With the new children arriving in September, the Head teacher has decided it would be valuable to have a new member of temporary staff to work alongside a child in KS1 with Special Educational Needs. The child has recently moved to the school from down south and arrives with a full EHCP. The child is fully funded and the school have approached us in order to appoint a TA to work on a 121 basis with the child. As the child in question has a range of behaviour and academic needs, the Head teacher is keen to appoint someone who commands a strong knowledge of English and Maths as well as the confidence to support a child on the Autism Spectrum.

What the Head teacher is looking for?

A qualification relevant to working alongside children with special educational needs

Experience working alongside children with special educational needs; preferably children with Autism

Excellent command of the English language

Versatile and flexible; offering experience in dealing with behaviour and challenges in the classroom

What the school is like?

The school is one form entry and has around 145 children on roll. The majority of the children are from the local community which is considered to be 'mainly working class'. There are more children in this school who are on the SEN register and receive additional support. There are more children attending this school who receive additional funding through pupil premium funding. The School is currently graded as 'Good' by Ofsted and continues to improve standards in all areas.

The Head teacher is approachable and has a really positive reputation in the local area. As she has been in post over the last four years; the Head teacher has grown her team into a group of people who are sensitive to the children's needs and one that are keen to make a difference every day.

Working through Teaching Personnel?

Teaching Personnel have a really positive reputation within the Lancashire area and work with a good number of client schools. As a result of this, we can constantly offer new work opportunities to the staff that join the agency. We have five dedicated consultants in the office who work every day with the schools in the area, seeking new work opportunities. Additional to the working opportunities on offer, Teaching Personnel will work closely with their candidates to prepare and upskill, ensuring they are completely ready for the new challenge ahead.
