Job description

A Specialist Provision situated in Oldham are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant who can work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil in year 1. This position is commencing as soon as possible and will involve working until the end of the academic year (July 2019).

The Setting itself is a specialist provision which caters for pupils with ASC, MLD, PMLD and those with significant interaction and communication difficulties. The role will involve working in year 1 on a 1:1 basis with a pupil who has a hearing impairment and various other learning difficulties. Due to the nature of the young person's needs the Teaching Assistant will ideally have experience communicating using: BSL and PECS.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

* Experience of using PECS - Essential
* Understanding of students who have ASD
* Experience of collating data to evidence impact
