WELSH SPEAKING Teaching Assistant
GBP331.50+ per week

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit an energetic fluent welsh speaking Teaching assistant to work in a Welsh Medium Primary school in the Llanelli area. The role would require the successful candidate to work within the Welsh stream of the bilingual Primary School therefore the ability to speak welsh is essential. The year group has not yet been decided therefore you could be expected to work within the Foundation Phase or Key Stage 2.
The successful candidate should have previous experience and would ideally have an education based qualification. The school would welcome a flexible person with a positive attitude towards developing and nurturing the insightful minds of their learners. The successful candidate should ensure that they develop into caring and kind individuals within a safe and Welsh environment.
Essential for this role
- Previous experience working with children
- The ability to converse through the medium of welsh
- Child Workforce DBS on the update service
- Registered with the Education Workforce Council
- Be available full time for the whole academic year
Teaching Personnel are able to support you through the vetting process in regards to the DBS application and Education Workforce Council if you are not currently registered.
The school
The school, situated in Carmarthenshire, is a dual stream primary school for pupils aged 3-11. There are six English-medium and four Welsh-medium mainstream classes, with mixed age groups in most of the classes. There are over 250 pupils on roll, with a small percentage coming from Welsh speaking backgrounds. At present 15 pupils receive support in English as an additional language and some pupils are looked after by the local authority. Attached to the school is a special educational needs centre, which comprises of two Foundation Phase assessment and observation classes, a language unit and a key stage 2 class for pupils with severe learning difficulties.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
