Meet Morgan – TP Team Spotlight

Date posted : 30 October 2025

Meet Morgan Sharkey, Education Recruitment Consultant in our Preston Team

What’s your role and what does a typical day look like?                                                                               My role is an Educational Recruitment Consultant, which combines recruitment with sales, client management, and relationship building with schools and candidates. A typical day starts with keeping on top of my emails and managing pending educators in the morning - usually between handling any emergency bookings that come through!

Which office/region do you work in?
I’m based in the Preston office on the Lancashire Central Primary Branch.

How long have you been with TP?
I’ve been with TP for six months now. I recently passed my probation and I’m loving every second of it! The whole office is so friendly, and the company itself is really well run in terms of wellbeing, consideration, and the overall vibe. It’s a genuinely helpful, team-oriented environment.

What brought you to education recruitment?
I worked as a SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant for nearly two years, then as a behaviour manager and cover supply teacher in a secondary school for another year. That experience made me want something that offered more mental challenges while also helping me achieve my personal goals, like getting married, having children, and buying a house.

What’s been your proudest moment at TP?
My proudest moment would have to be converting my first school through relationship building and then securing a fixed finder’s fee at that same school with one of my educators who loves their role. That, or easily passing my probation and being made an honorary TP consultant!

What do you love most about your job?
I love the team orientation and the general banter in the office! I genuinely enjoy everyone I work with, as well as the business managers and headteachers I speak to - they’re all lovely. I also love that I still make a difference every day and work closely with safeguarding policies to ensure the educators I send into schools are the best fit for the children they’re supporting.

How has TP helped you grow?
TP has helped me grow massively as a professional. I’ve developed better time management skills, learned how to build stronger relationships and rapport, and become more mindful and purposeful in my work. You quickly realise there are never enough hours in the day!

What do you look for in an ideal candidate?
For me, an ideal candidate is personable, passionate about supporting others, and has a friendly, genuine demeanour. Transparency, professionalism, and punctuality are also key. I really value motivation, drive, and personality. Having come into education myself from bartending at university, I know how transferable skills can be when someone has the right attitude.
