Special Needs Teaching Assistants – Farnborough
Specialist schools in the Farnborough area are looking for caring, dedicated and motivated individuals to join their teams as Special Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TAs). These roles offer the chance to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, supporting them to learn, grow and achieve their potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
About the Role
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and therapists to support pupils aged 2–19 with complex learning needs. Many of the children you’ll work with may have autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties, communication challenges, or physical and sensory needs. Every child has an individual learning plan, and your role will be to help them access learning in a way that suits them best.
Day-to-day responsibilities may include:

Supporting classroom activities and adapting materials to meet individual needs

Encouraging communication using symbols, sign, or visual aids
-
Assisting with sensory-based learning and therapeutic activities
-
Promoting independence, confidence, and social interaction
-
Providing personal care where required and ensuring pupil safety and wellbeing
You’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive team that values compassion, patience, and creativity. Training is provided, and new staff are fully supported to develop their skills and confidence in working with pupils with additional needs.

Previous experience in education, care, or youth work is helpful but not essential. What matters most is a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and a willingness to learn.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
