Learning Support Assistant – Specialist Education Setting

Location: Farnborough, Hampshire
Hours: Full-time | 9:00am – 3:30pm | Term time
Pay: £13.75 per hour (Temp to Perm – salaried role available)

We are pleased to be recruiting a full-time Learning Support Assistant to join a warm and inclusive specialist school in the Farnborough area. The school supports older primary to early secondary-aged pupils who benefit from a calm, consistent and nurturing environment. Many pupils experience emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA) and social, emotional or behavioural needs, and thrive with patient, encouraging adults around them.

This role is ideal for someone who values relationships, understands that progress can look different for every child, and takes pride in helping pupils feel regulated and ready to re-engage with learning. The school offers a genuinely supportive culture where teamwork, wellbeing and small successes are celebrated.

About you:

• Experience working with children or young people, or a strong interest in moving into education

• A calm, patient and empathetic approach

• An interest in supporting pupils with SEMH needs, EBSA or behavioural challenges (training and guidance provided)

• Reliable, proactive and able to remain emotionally resilient

Safeguarding:
To keep our children safe, all applicants must hold an Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
