Learning Support Assistant – Specialist Education Setting
Location: Farnborough, Hampshire
Hours: Full-time | 9:00am – 3:30pm | Term time
Pay: £13.75 per hour (Temp to Perm – salaried role on appointment)
We are currently seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming and supportive specialist education setting in the Farnborough area.
This role involves supporting older primary to young secondary-aged pupils with behavioural, social and emotional needs, including children experiencing emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA). Pupils benefit from a calm, consistent and nurturing approach to help them regulate emotions, rebuild confidence and re-engage with learning.
The school offers a friendly, close-knit environment where staff work collaboratively to meet the individual needs of each child. Pupils may present with anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties and behavioural challenges, so patience, resilience and a trauma-informed approach are essential.
The ideal candidate will:

Have experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar support role

Be confident, calm, patient and proactive
-
Be able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

Have experience supporting children with SEMH, behavioural needs or EBSA (desirable)
Pay & Contract:

£13.75 per hour initially
-
Temp to perm opportunity, moving onto a school-based salaried contract
Safeguarding:
-
You must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Child Workforce, registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one prior to starting
This is an excellent opportunity for an LSA looking to work in a specialist setting where your support will make a meaningful difference to children who need it most.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
