The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Individual Needs Assistant to work one-to-one with a bright, high-level autistic child in Key Stage 1, who experiences behavioural challenges and has non-verbal tendencies.

This is a unique opportunity to provide the structure, trust, and stability needed to help one child access learning in a way that works for them.

About the Role

• Work one-to-one with a pupil with autism and behavioural needs

• Support the child’s academic progress and emotional well-being

• Provide a consistent, predictable presence that builds trust and reduces anxiety

• Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to deliver personalised strategies

• Use proactive, positive behaviour management approaches tailored to the child’s needs

You will be:

• Calm, consistent, and fair in your approach

• Experienced or confident working with autistic children and/or those with behavioural needs

• Patient, positive, and clear in setting expectations
