SEND Teacher – Permanent Role

An award-winning and highly reputable group of Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools is seeking a passionate and skilled SEND Teacher to join the dedicated team at one of its Lancashire schools. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, tailored teaching to pupils with a range of special educational needs, working closely with skilled support staff, therapy teams, and senior leaders to ensure each learner reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs and EHCP outcomes.

• Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where pupils can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, support staff, and families.

• Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse needs.

• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and community engagement.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• Proven experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally within a specialist or inclusive setting.

• Strong knowledge of SEN best practice, including strategies for autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other additional needs.

• Excellent behaviour management skills, with a positive, proactive, and patient approach.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
