Job description

SEN Learning Support Assistant – Full-Time
Location: Preston
Type: Agency Temporary (Potential for Permanent)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Preston. This is a full-time agency position with the possibility of becoming a permanent role for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of special educational needs.

  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.

  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure each pupil can access the curriculum.

  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

  • Support students with personal care and life skills where required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and complex learning needs.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build rapport with students and adapt to their individual needs.

  • A patient, proactive, and resilient approach.

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
