SEN Teacher – SEMH Provision – Preston

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist team at a supportive and dynamic SEMH provision in Preston. The school provides tailored education for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside additional Special Educational Needs (SEN), in a nurturing and structured environment.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, resilient and child-centred teacher who is committed to making a difference in the lives of young people with complex needs. The successful candidate will have experience of working with children and young people with SEMH and/or SEN, and a strong understanding of the strategies required to engage and support them effectively.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent

  • Have experience teaching pupils with SEMH and/or a range of additional needs

  • Be skilled in creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment

  • Be confident in managing challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support approaches

  • Have a flexible and creative teaching style, adapting to meet individual pupil needs

  • Be an excellent communicator, with a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, parents and external agencies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
