SEN Teaching Assistant (Agency Role)


Location: Preston & Blackpool
Contract Type: Agency (Full-time, Part-time and flexible positions available)
Start Date: Ongoing

We are currently seeking experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team working across a variety of schools in the Preston and Blackpool areas. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), while gaining valuable experience across different educational settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs

  • Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans

  • Support pupils in developing independence, confidence, and social skills

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Contribute to behaviour management and pastoral care as needed

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, or community settings considered)

  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach

  • Flexibility to work in a range of primary, secondary and special schools

  • A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Certificate) desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
