We are seeking a committed and empathetic SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive school setting. You will work closely with students who have a range of needs, such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health), and moderate learning difficulties.

This is a rewarding and hands-on role where you will provide one-to-one and small group support, helping learners access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop life skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom

  • Assist with managing behaviour using positive and proactive strategies

  • Support students with communication, emotional regulation, and academic development

  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

  • Prepare and adapt learning materials to suit individual needs

  • Track student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents

  • Promote inclusion and encourage independence wherever possible


Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in school, care, or youth work settings)

  • Understanding of common SEN profiles such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or global developmental delay

  • Calm, patient, and resilient, with the ability to manage emotional and behavioural challenges

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Confident working both one-on-one and as part of a team

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 TA, SEN Support) are desirable but not essential

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
