PMLD Support Assistant

Location: Bamber Bridge, PR5
School Type: Mixed Primary & Secondary SEN School
Salary: Competitive – Based on Experience
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)? We are currently seeking a compassionate, proactive, and reliable Teaching Assistant to join a caring and inclusive SEN school in Bamber Bridge. The school caters to pupils aged 4–19 years, offering a tailored and nurturing environment that promotes growth, independence, and dignity.

 

We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, including:

  • Experienced Teaching Assistants

  • Support Workers

  • Health Care Assistants

  • Individuals with strong experience in care or support roles, especially with additional or complex needs

 

Key Responsibilites: 

  • Provide individualised support for pupils with PMLD, including those with physical, sensory, and communication challenges

  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to implement personalised learning plans

  • Promote pupil independence, personal development, and well-being

  • Assist with personal care tasks and therapeutic activities as required

  • Maintain a positive, patient, and flexible approach in a dynamic classroom environment

  • Experience working with individuals with complex or profound learning needs

  • A caring and empathetic nature, with a calm and resilient attitude

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
