Job description

PMLD Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant 

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated PMLD Support Assistant to join a specialist SEN provision on a temporary-to-permanent basis through an agency placement. This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with PMLD.

  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs where required.

  • Support learning activities, therapy sessions, and communication development.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals.

  • Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with PMLD, complex needs, or SEN.

  • Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach.

  • Ability to follow individual learning and care plans.

  • Willingness to undertake relevant training (e.g., safeguarding, moving & handling).

Contract:

  • Agency placement with the potential for a permanent role.

  • Full-time, term-time only.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
