SEN Experienced Teaching Assistant role- BLACKBURN

Job description

Teaching Personnel work closely with a Primary School in the Blackburn with Darwen area, the School caters for a range of pupils needs including; PMLD, Autism, ADHD, Physical Disabilities and Learning Difficulties. The School is smaller than average and caters for pupils ranging in age 4-11 years old. The children tend to arrive from socially deprived backgrounds and with this there are a number of children with special educational needs attending school.

The School is based in the BB2 area and serves a community area where the majority of children are from white British backgrounds. The candidate suitable for this role must be hard working, have experience supporting children or adults with Special Educational Needs and be willing to provide personal care when required. The candidate must also have a good understanding about working with pupils with Autism as many of the pupils in School have specific learning needs surrounding Autism. Teaching Personnel also run courses in Autism Awareness and Team Teach.

The candidate must be willing to work on a full time basis (Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm), be willing to work with pupils who present challenging behaviours and be supportive and empathetic towards pupils with additional needs.

The successful candidate will benefit from:

- negotiable pay rates £54 - 60 per day

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
