Job description

SEN Teacher – Primary | Barnsley | September 2025 or Immediate Start

Are you an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher looking for your next rewarding opportunity? We are seeking a dedicated teacher to join a Barnsley-based school that supports pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, SEMH, MLD, and complex needs.


Location: Barnsley

Role: SEN Teacher Primary

Start Date: September 2025 or Immediate

⏰ Hours: Full-time (part-time considered)

Contract: Long-term with potential for permanent


Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, tailored lessons to meet individual needs
  • Supporting students with EHCPs and differentiated learning objectives
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Collaborating with TAs, SENCOs, therapists, and families
  • Monitoring progress and adapting support strategies accordingly

✅ You Will Need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEN in a specialist or mainstream setting
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding and SEN best practices
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
