Job Role: School Attendance Officer
Location: Fitzalan high School
Salary: £19,484 (Pro Rata)

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced School Attendance Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in promoting and maintaining high levels of attendance among our students.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track student attendance records on a daily basis.
- Implement strategies to improve to improve and punctuality.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and senior leadership to address attendance issues
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date attendance records and generate reports as required.
- Coach individual pupils to generate a change in behaviour, encouraging them to manage their own issues and attend the school on a regular basis
- Work within the community to support families and advise on their statutory responsibilities in relation to school attendance.
- Support the administration and co-ordination of careers and work-related experiences.
- Support the administration and co-ordination of school admissions
- Support teaching staff in rewarding excellent and improving attendance and punctuality
- Assis with the identification and monitoring of pupils who require support in improving attendance and punctuality
Expectations and requirements:
- Good general qualifications and numeracy & literacy skills (e.g. GCSE or equivalent Maths and English)
- Full clean driving license
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Minimum of two years relevant experience
- Experience of operating systems and procedures for ensuring that administrative support is highly effective and efficient
- Works well independently and within a team
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to establish and maintain good working relationships.
- Excellent planning and coordination skills
- Working with IT systems and office programmes
- Able to install high expectations of behaviour and achievement in pupils’ attendance
- Coaching skills
- Understand the barriers to learning caused by poor attendance and knowledge of strategies to overcome these
- Understanding of how to improve attendance outcomes for pupil
- Ability to use data to monitor pupil attendance
- Understanding of the developmental and learning needs of pupils
- Relevant policies/codes of practice and legislation
- Flexible, with a capacity for hard work
- A desire and determination to make a significant contribution to the school as a whole
- Kind and compassionate, trustworthy and honest
- Be a good role model and adopt professional standards of behaviour and dress
