Job description

Full time PE Teaching Assistant with general cover responsibilities required for a Sheffield based Secondary Academy, from until the end of the academic year.

Due to an influx of pupils expected to join the Academy in the new academic year, this smaller than average Secondary Academy require a flexible PE Teaching Assistant to deliver PE sessions, and also partake in general cover requirements as required. This position will be secured for the full academic year, with the potential of extension past this.

The successful PE Teaching Assistant can expect to join a smaller than average Secondary Academy located in the North, bordering with Barnsley. The Academy is led by the guidance of its Senior Leadership Team.

The responsibilities for the incoming PE Teaching Assistant with general cover responsibilities will include;

  • Deliver engaging sports and PE sessions to pupils across Key Stages 3-4, alongside the class teacher and or independently where required.
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across the curriculum in the absence of the class teacher, where applicable.
  • Work with pupils 1:1, in small groups and within a classroom setting.
  • Positively manage behaviour in accordance with school behaviour policies.

Located at the border of Sheffield nearing Rotherham and Doncaster. Public Transport links are also easily accessible, with the Bus and Train station a few miles away from the Academy.
