Are you a sports coach/PE assistant? do you have experience deleivering sport to young people? Teaching Personnel are currently working with a secondary Alternative Provision in the City centre area of Coventry. We are looking for PE assistants and sports coaches with experience of running school sports clubs as well as experienced Behaviour Mentors and Learning Support Assistants. This is a full time role Monday to Friday (8.30-3.30) starting in June 2021.
The preferred sports coach will ideally be looking to gain experience before commencing on a PGCE with the aim of starting a career as a Physical Education Teacher. Your role will be combined to work as a behaviour mentor and academic tutor, with the opportunity to run after school and lunch sports clubs and be significantly involved within the PE department. Ideally you will have some recent experience working within a school setting and be able to work with children with challenging behaviour.
Although school based experience is desired for this position, school are open to interest from applicants with a background in sports coaching and community work.
Ideal qualifications include:
* Degree in Physical Education or Sports Science
* Level 3 Diploma in Sports Development
* FA Level 2 in Coaching Football
* BTEC Nationals in Sport
* Equivalent Physical Education/ Sport Certificate
You must have good verbal and written English skills. You must also be a passionate sports coach/PE assistant who has the ambition of helping young people excel in education.
