Job description

TP Tutors are looking for dedicated and passionate Science Tutors to work with pupils outside the traditional school setting. You will provide one-on-one Science tuition in the home, local community or school to help students improve their skills, gain confidence, and reach their academic goals.

Location: Gateshead (and surrounding areas)

Role:  Science Tutor

Salary: £25 to £35 per hour

Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver personalised Science lessons that cater to each student’s unique needs and preferred learning styles.
  • Monitor student progress and deliver constructive feedback using our customised online reporting tool to promote ongoing development.
  • Foster strong, supportive relationships with students, nurturing a growth mindset and boosting their confidence in Science.
  • Assist students with exam preparation, homework tasks, and deepening their overall comprehension of scientific concepts.
  • Modify teaching approaches to accommodate varying levels of understanding and diverse learning preferences.

Tutor Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of the Combined Science National Curriculum for Key Stage 3 and 4. 
  • Previous experience tutoring students outside of the school system or those with additional needs is desriable.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
  • Qualified Teacher Status is preferred or the equivalent tutoring experience.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
