Job description

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Northamptonshire, NN14
Contract Type: Temp to Perm
Daily Rate: £90+ per day

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated full-time Teaching Assistant to join a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Northampton

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to ensure that students with varying needs are supported in accessing the curriculum and achieving their potential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting Senior Learning Support Assistants and Teachers in preparing tailored resources that align with individual learning plans.

  • Delivering one-to-one support during skills-based sessions under the guidance of the class teacher.

  • Collaborating with the class teacher to monitor and document student progress using evidence-based methods.

  • Supporting students in understanding their learning objectives, practicing new skills, and encouraging independence wherever possible.

  • Contributing to the overall support framework necessary for student wellbeing, engagement, and learning participation.

  • Adhering to and actively following Safeguarding procedures and policies.

Essential Qualifications:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at a minimum

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a school setting is preferred but not required.

Key Attributes and Skills:

  • Ability to act on your own initiative

  • Strong organisational abilities to handle daily responsibilities effectively

  • Capacity to manage and prioritise various tasks

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
