Pastoral Lead

A welcoming and high-achieving mainstream secondary school in Christchurch is seeking an experienced and dedicated Pastoral Lead to join their team on a permanent basis from January 2025.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people and ensuring every student is able to thrive, both academically and personally. The successful candidate will take a key role in leading and developing the school’s pastoral provision, working closely with senior leaders, teaching staff and support colleagues to promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and attendance.
Responsibilities include:

Leading the pastoral support team to ensure consistent and effective student care

Managing behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding processes within the year group(s)

Building strong relationships with students, parents, and external agencies
-
Supporting students’ social, emotional and mental health needs
-
Promoting a positive, inclusive and supportive school culture
The ideal candidate will:

Have experience working in a pastoral, behaviour, or safeguarding role within a secondary school
-
Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills
-
Be proactive, resilient, and committed to improving outcomes for young people
-
Have a sound understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and attendance management procedures

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
