SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Bournemouth.

This is a full-time position supporting students aged 16 to 18, helping them gain confidence, independence and a positive attitude toward learning.

Working hours are typically 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Some weekdays may finish slightly earlier depending on the timetable.

Your Key Responsibilities
• Working closely with students to help them engage in lessons and activities
• Encouraging independence, personal growth and positive communication
• Providing support in small-group sessions and one-to-one situations
• Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom routines
• Helping to maintain a calm, consistent and motivating environment

 

What We Need From You
• A minimum of six months of experience working with children or young people, ideally involving additional learning support
• The ability to drive, as the location of the setting is not easily accessible by public transport
• A caring, patient and proactive attitude
• Confidence working with young adults and supporting them to overcome challenges

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
