Learning Support Assistant- Wigan

Teaching Personnel are urgently seeking people Youth Workers to work as Learning Support Assistants in our client secondary school in Wigan;

Highlights;

• Using your background and experience of engaging young people to facilitate learning in a secondary school environment.
• This will involve covering full classes in the absence of the teachers whereby you will be expected to ensure pupils are engaged with their work.
• The work for these lessons will be pre-set, so your main duties will be to maintain discipline in the classroom whilst supporting learning wherever possible.
• The possibility of gaining an on-going position within the support department of the school (dependent upon effectiveness within the role).
• You will also have the opportunity to work in other secondary schools across the Wigan area on occasion.

These roles are ideal for anyone with experience of working with 11-16 year olds in an educational setting. This could be sports coaching or anything related to youth work e.g. dance/drama clubs or residential support. They are also perfect preparation for anyone thinking of completing a PGCE in the near future.
