A fast paced Wandsworth Primay School are seeking three recent graduates to join the support staff team to work as graduate teaching assistants.
Working as a teaching assistant is a great way to gain invaluable school based experience that will stand you in good stead for when you begin teacher training.
Each year this primary school looks to take on a small number of graduates who are eager to develop their experience in a school setting ahead of commencing teacher training.
The graduates work as graduate teaching assistants/learning mentors on a full time basis and gain invaluable school experience which stands them in good stead for when they commence teacher training.
As a teaching assistant you will be working under the guidance of an experienced SENCo and will work closely with students with learning difficulties and Special Educational Needs within the schools learning support department. You will be working with students from years 1- 6 in a wide range of subject areas giving you the opportunity to gain a real insight into secondary school teaching.
This School are looking to interview recent graduates who have some form of recent experience with young people and can commit to this school on a full time basis. You may have gained this experience a number of ways such as voluntary school work, overseas teaching, sports coaching, youth work, tutoring....
Graduates who have previously spent the year working as teaching assistants have been successful when applying for a PGCE/teacher training
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
