MLD Teacher required in Hammersmith Area

Teacher needed to teach basic English to MLD & ASC students in Hammersmith area - for January 2018

A great SEN Primary and Secondary School in South East London is looking for an experienced Primary, Secondary or SEN trained teacher to teach English to SEN years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. This position will be full time Monday - Friday and is to start asap. The pupils have moderate to severe learning difficulties as a primary need or as a dual diagnosis to their medical or physical need. About the role

• Small classes of pupils with MLD and ASC

• The pupils are secondary aged but Maths level is Primary (entry 1, entry 2 and entry 3)

• There is potential for this role to continue and there will be other SEN teaching positions in South East London to be put forward for

• 4 members of Learning Support Staff in the class to assist and support you and the pupils

The ideal candidate will have:

• QTS is essential

• Experience working in a SEN setting with children who have MLD / ASC

• Experience planning and delivering lessons to primary or secondary aged pupils

• Manual handling and wheelchair hoisting, PECS, Makaton training is desirable

• Must be organised and must have confidence to manage support staff

• Must be able to start January 2018

• Two teaching based references from UK required
