The school which is based in central Southampton going through significant developments in the Tech department and are looking to appoint a Design Technology Teacher (Textiles/Food Tech) to join them in September on a full time, permanent basis. The school are looking to enhance their team across their secondary phases and in order to achieve this, they need an ambitious individuals who are passionate about teaching, learning.
The role of a DT Teacher is a highly rewarding one yet on occasion challenging role. The school are keen to receive applications from people with pre existing experience in education, graduates who are looking to pursue a career in teaching or experienced teaching assistants who are looking to progress in their career.
"We have recently refurbished our Design Technology department with brand new facilities such as new cooking stove, sewing machines, and wood/metal machineries as well had the latest tools for pupils to use.
Skills and experience you will need in order to be successful in the role:
- Supportive, patient and non-judgemental
- Positive, flexible and encouraging
- Passion for Design Technology (Textiles, Food tech, Resistant Matrials)
- Good communicator who is able adapt their style to sensitively meet the needs of all learners
- Have a good presence and sense of humour
- If not qualified, a minimum qualification of Degree in a Creative subject
- understand how children develop, think and learn
- Experience in managing groups of children in different environments

This role could provide a suitable level of experience to support an application to their School Direct Initial Teacher Training (ITT) Programme (both Salaried and Training) or other opportunities in the field of education
