Special Needs Teaching Assistant Required

A truly progressive SEN school in Cwmbran are looking for an experienced, dedicated and personable SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. The school caters for Students aged 3-19 with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) Global Delay, ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome and SEMH. You will be employed to support some very active KS1 pupils and help them through their daily routine.

Experience working as an SEN teaching assistant is desirable but not essential, as long as you hit the ground running in this very rewarding role. Additional training can be provided where needed for the right candidate. This role would be perfect for Psychology graduates or an individual with an interest in SEN and is passionate about getting their foot in the door.

Further details of the role:

  • SEN Teaching Assistant - KS1
  • Working 1:1 with the designated pupil in classrooms with typically 7-8 students
  • GBP57-GBP65 per day with the opportunity to increase as the year goes on
  • Hugely supportive and friendly team of staff at every level
  • Training is also provided for the right individual

  • Have transferable skills and experiences
  • Have a contagious personality
  • Be able to think on their feet
  • Work well under pressure
  • Be confident in what they do
  • Have experience working with challenging behaviour
