Based in rural Norfolk, just outside of Thetford is a very specific and friendly education and care provider for individuals with Autism, PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) and SEMH (Behavioural Needs).
The educational site caters for pupils from 5-16 years as well as residential care. Pupils have tailored educational programmes to suit their learning styles and meet their areas for development such as Reading, Writing and Life Skills. The role of SEN Support Assistant involves the following:
- Personal Care
- Supporting and encouraging individuals to develop their fine, motor and life skills.
- Using wheelchairs and walking aids
- Communicating effectively by using British Sign Language, Makaton and PECs (Picture Exchange Communication System) and a variety of electronic communication aids.
Working hours are 9am until 3.30pm with both part-time and full-time positions available for the right candidate.
In partnership with the specialist provision, we are looking for individuals with:
- Previous personal care or SEN experience (personal or professional)
- GCSE’s in Maths and English (Grade A-C) or equivalent
- Drive and passion to work with and support individuals with complex needs
- Own transport or a reliable lift to work
