Job Title: Youth Support Assistant
Location: Primary Specialist Education Needs (SEN) School, Bury
Salary: £16,550 - £17,550 (paid via PAYE - weekly pay)
Start Date: September

About Us:
We are working with a specialist primary SEN school in Bury that supports children with autism and other learning disabilities. The school is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child is supported to thrive.

The Role:
Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of this fantastic school for a compassionate and dedicated Youth Support Assistant. You will work directly with young learners, supporting their individual educational and social needs within the classroom and throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teaching staff in delivering tailored learning programs

  • Support children with autism and specialist learning disabilities in both educational and social contexts

  • Encourage positive behavior and social skills development

  • Promote communication, independence, and life skills

  • Help maintain a safe and supportive learning environment

  • Work closely with school staff, families, and external professionals

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience or interest in working with children with autism and learning disabilities

  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work well within a team and independently

  • Flexibility and a proactive approach

  • Relevant qualifications or training desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
