Kick-Start Your Career in Education: Graduate Teaching Assistant Roles Available
Location: Salford | Full Time | September Start

Are you a recent graduate ready to make a meaningful difference?
Looking to gain valuable, hands-on experience working with young people and explore a career path in education, psychology, or healthcare?

We’re looking for passionate, proactive individuals to join our team as a 1-to-1 Support Assistant for a secondary school student with special educational needs (SEN). Based in a specialist setting in Salford, this role is perfect for graduates looking to make an impact while developing key skills and insights into SEN education and support.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be working closely with one student aged 11–16 who has moderate to complex needs, such as:

  • Autism spectrum condition (ASC)

  • Communication or sensory processing difficulties

  • Physical or learning disabilities

You’ll provide tailored, 1-to-1 support throughout the school day — helping the student with learning tasks, communication, emotional regulation, and daily activities. You’ll also work alongside experienced teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver strategies that promote progress and wellbeing.

Don’t worry if you haven’t worked in a school before — we’ll give you the training and support to thrive in this role.

Why This Role Is Ideal for Recent Graduates
This is more than just a job — it’s a stepping stone to careers in:

  • Teaching

  • Psychology

  • Speech and Language Therapy

  • Mental Health and Social Care

  • Youth and Community Work

It’s also a great option if you’re taking a gap year, applying for further study, or seeking meaningful experience before committing to a long-term path.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in any subject (Psychology, Education, Health/Social Care, or related areas especially welcome)

  • Experience supporting children or young people — whether in a school, camp, youth club, care setting, or volunteering

  • A calm, caring, and adaptable mindset

  • A genuine interest in working with students with SEN and a desire to learn

  • Bonus: Any knowledge of PECS, Makaton, sensory integration, or behaviour support strategies (but not essential)

What You’ll Get in Return

  • A welcoming, inclusive school environment

  • Full, ongoing training in SEN support approaches

  • One-to-one mentoring and guidance from an experienced consultant

  • The opportunity to build a strong foundation for careers in education, psychology, or therapy

  • The reward of making a lasting difference to a young person’s life — every single day

Start your journey in SEN education. Grow your skills. Change lives.
Apply now for a September start and turn your passion into purpose.

You bring the heart. We’ll help you build the future.
